What we liked

  • + 3,292 parts in wood and die-cast metal, with rigging, sails, ladders and deck elements
  • + Builds to 29.68 inches long, 17.5 inches tall and 8.5 inches wide, a true centerpiece size
  • + Rated medium difficulty, so it is more approachable than an expert-level multi-deck warship kit

Trade-offs

  • - Paint is not included (model only), and an average build time of 480 hours demands real patience
  • - Sold through a generic-brand listing with thin, partly repeated details, so confirm contents before ordering
