Updated How we research
Trumpeter TSM-9915 Aircraft Display Stand
Trumpeter TSM-9915 Aircraft Display Stand, a model maker's stand for displaying assembled aircraft kits in flight.
Airfix AF1008 Assortment of Small Aircraft Display Stands Model Building Kit
Airfix AF1008 Assortment of Small Aircraft Display Stands, a pack of stands sized for smaller scale kit aircraft.
Aircraft look best doing what they were built for, and a display stand puts a model into flight instead of parking it on its gear. Building gear-up also skips some of the fiddliest parts of many kits, which is why in-flight builds are popular in the first place. Stands range from simple angled desk mounts to adjustable arms that let you set a climbing or banking attitude, and the right choice depends on the model's scale, weight, and whether the kit provides a stand mount or needs a cradle-style support. Stability is the make-or-break factor, since a top-heavy bomber on a weak base is an accident waiting to happen. This guide compares stands by scale range, adjustability, and mounting method.
